Welcome to my website.
I’m Clare, an integrative psychotherapist, counsellor and supervisor, accredited by the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I offer in-person psychotherapy and counselling for adults in central Wakefield and on zoom.
People access therapy for a variety of reasons.
You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or carrying experiences that are hard to make sense of alone. You may have a clear reason for seeking support such as a bereavement, relationship breakdown, or traumatic experience. You may have a sense that something from earlier in your life continues to affect how you feel, relate, or cope in the present. Or you may simply know that something doesn’t feel right.
Current appointment availability:
Wednesdays 2pm
Thursdays 10.15 & 11.15 am
Integrative psychotherapy: how we will work together
I work integratively, drawing on different therapeutic approaches while placing the therapeutic relationship at the centre of our work. Therapy is something we do collaboratively, usually taking place at the same time each week, offering continuity, safety, and a regular space to reflect.
In our initial sessions, we’ll focus on understanding your current circumstances, emotional world, and what you hope might change. Some people arrive with a clear focus; others feel distressed or unsettled without knowing exactly why.
Our work together may involve:
making sense of difficult thoughts and feelings
exploring patterns that repeat in relationships or daily life
understanding how past experiences shape the present
developing greater self-awareness, choice, and self-compassion
Fees:
Psychotherapy & Counselling Session Fee (50 minute sessions) :
£60 (usually for self-funding clients)
£65 (where treatment plans or reports are required - usually for those funded by Private Health Insurance)
Reduced fees available for student counsellors and psychotherapists
Insurance companies covered: Bupa, AXA, WPA, Aviva, Allianz, Cygnet (please inquire if not stated here)
How do I get in touch?
The best way to contact me is via email, text or to leave a voice message. We can arrange a (free of charge) phone call before booking you in, so you can get to know me a little and ask any further questions. This also allows me to find out a little about your current situation and consider if the way I work could be a good fit for your needs.
